Data sources

Starting base of FDB for State Forest is supplied by the following descriptive data:

1) Stand description and cadastral data divided into 2 state based on topicality:

  • actual state – the state of the Central Stand Description of State Forest  database after finishing the process of actualization the base of Central Informatics System of State Forest (updated every year to new version),
  • state results from forest taxations – special state of actual database after upgrading by data from forest management plans.

 2) Starting base of FDB was supplied by data from forestry management plan state comes from repository manage by Bureau for Forest Management and Geodesy.

Starting base of FDB was supplied by data from forestry management plan state (attributable to 1th  January implemented plan in the given year) comes from repository manage by Bureau for Forest Management and Geodesy. This repository is yearly updated for storing necessary information about state of forested area and wood resources in State Forest.

3) Additionally FDB stored information about:

  • data gathered on wheel surfaces from forest inventory (according to localization defined as a geometric layer from Digital Map of Forest, according to the new rules from Instruction of Forest Management),
  • plans prepared for 10 years – are kept as a clues for management purposes in stand description of secretion,
  • data about harvesting  - information gathered directly from Central Stand Description of State Forest.

Starting database of FDB for forests which are not manage by State Forests is applied in following descriptive data:

Data from forest management plans for forests outside State Forest:

  • stand description and simplified cadastral data from protection plan of national parks,
  • simplified forest management plans and forest inventory, gathered for management state.

Keep Up-to-date descriptive data

  • Małopolska Voivodship, Masovia Voivodship – all of the data starting from 1th January 2002 was included,
  • Podkarpackie Voivodship – all of available documentation is taken into account independently of the date when the documentation was prepared for the first time use.
